Audio consulting and technical training for companies, agencies, institutions, public authorities and education providers

Audio consulting and training.
When recording, equipment and workflow need to work reliably.

I support companies, freelancers, agencies, education providers, institutions and public authorities in producing audio content more cleanly, more clearly and more reliably from a technical perspective. In my consulting at Tonstudio Leipzig I share microphone technique, recording setup, software usage, audio editing and clear workflows. The consulting is delivered personally and directly by me.

Audio consulting that comes from real studio practice.

Many audio issues in companies do not arise from a lack of motivation, but from unclear equipment, wrong microphone positions, overly complicated software routines or poorly fitting workflows. I help to structure these points in a clear way and improve them so they work in practice.

At Tonstudio Leipzig, my practical experience from voice recording, podcast audio, audio post production, mixing and mastering flows directly into the consulting. The standard is clear: you do not get theoretical standard slides, but concrete recommendations that fit your team, your equipment and your use case.

Quality criteria

What truly defines professional audio consulting.

Three factors decide whether consulting knowledge actually arrives in practice. I make sure every recommendation stays clear, realistic and applicable in everyday work.

01 Practice

Practice instead of theory

My consulting knowledge comes from real studio work. What I recommend, I also use regularly myself in voice recordings, audio post production, podcast audio, mixing and mastering. Theory is only explained when it is genuinely helpful for your implementation.

02 Tailored

Tailored to the setup

The consulting is aligned with your team, your industry, your existing equipment and your level of experience. A small marketing team needs different solutions than an educational institution, an agency or a film production. The session is structured accordingly.

03 Actionable

Directly actionable

After the consulting you know which next steps make sense. You receive clear recommendations on equipment, software, recording workflow, file structure and editing. The goal is not nice theory, but a solution that works in everyday operations.

Consulting areas

Nine consulting areas around audio practice.

From audio strategy to technical training. Each format has its own requirements regarding preparation, content and depth. Every consulting session is therefore built around your project and your existing setup.

Strategy

Audio strategy for brands and companies

Strategic consulting for companies and brands that want to use audio as their own communication channel. This includes podcast, voice branding, on-hold music, in-house audio content and a clear view of target audience, brand impact and use case.

Workflow

Audio workflow optimisation in content teams

Existing audio workflows in marketing, content or HR teams are reviewed and improved. The goal is fewer technical errors, fewer unnecessary corrections, clearer responsibilities and more consistent audio results across multiple pieces of content.

Microphone

Microphone technique for in-house recordings

Technical training for employees, executives and podcast hosts who record inside the company themselves. Topics include microphone distance, levels, room, headphones, plosive protection, recording routine and clean file delivery. No speaker training and no speech therapy.

Tools

Consulting on tools and software

Independent consulting on DAW selection, restoration, plugin setups, recording hardware and file preparation for the target platform. Recommendations are not driven by advertising, but by your actual needs, your budget and your everyday work.

Studio

Home studio and in-house studio design

Design of internal recording spaces, small studio rooms or home studios. This includes basic acoustic questions, hardware selection, microphone technique, software setup and a workflow that remains realistic even for smaller setups.

Podcast

Podcast strategy and format consulting

Consulting for podcast projects before launch or to optimise running formats. I support format, episode structure, recording workflow, platform preparation and technical audio quality. Pure concept consulting without a production assignment is also possible.

Training

Audio training for marketing teams

Workshops of one or several days for marketing, content or HR teams. Topics include recording basics, microphone technique, software usage, basic audio post production, platform standards and quality control. The training can take place at your site, remotely or at my studio in Leipzig.

Recording

Recording workflow for teams

Practical training for employees and teams that record or prepare audio on a regular basis: correct microphone position, stable levels, clean room control, file organisation and basic editing. The focus is on technique and workflow, not on speaker training or voice coaching.

Education

Workshops for audio schools and universities

Workshops, guest lectures and practice oriented training days for audio academies, media universities, vocational schools and education providers. Possible topics include voice recording, mixing, mastering, sound design, DAW workflows and audio post production from real studio work.

Methodology and studio experience

Consulting from real studio practice.

What I produce daily in the studio flows directly into the consulting. The following areas form the practical foundation for technical training, workflow recommendations and audio analysis.

Recording and mixing at the control desk in Tonstudio Leipzig
Recording

Daily recording practice

Voice recordings, voiceover, audiobook and podcast productions are part of daily studio work. Anyone explaining microphone technique and recording workflows should also know these processes in practice. That is exactly where my consulting comes from.

Post production

Audio editing and restoration

Consulting on audio post production routines is based on practical experience with voice editing, restoration, mixing, mastering and film sound. Recommendations are not vendor copy, but emerge from real projects and traceable working processes.

Mastering

Platform standards in daily work

Loudness, file formats, podcast preparation and technical target values are part of daily mastering practice. I explain these standards in a clear way and in relation to the actual use case, rather than just passing along generic tables.

Composition

Ableton Live & hardware

Audio branding, advertising music, sound design and film scores are composed and produced individually when needed. Here too: consulting comes from ongoing creative practice, not from pure theory.

Process

From project clarification to concrete recommendation.

Structured in four phases. Clear communication in every phase, so that consulting remains comprehensible and shows real effect in practice.

  1. 01 Clarification
    Reason & context

In the project clarification I discuss reason, goal, existing equipment, team size and desired outcome. Based on this I recommend a suitable consulting or training format.

  2. 02 Review
    Workflow or audio analysis

Existing equipment, audio content, workflows or software setups are reviewed in preparation. For in-house voices a short technical test recording can help to better assess microphone distance, levels and room sound.

  3. 03 Session
    Workshop or training

Consulting day, workshop, training or lecture takes place on site, at my studio in Leipzig or remotely. For longer formats, several appointments at an agreed rhythm are possible.

  4. 04 Implementation
    Recommendations and follow-up

You receive concrete recommendations in a sensible order. On request I continue to accompany the implementation or check in follow-up sessions whether equipment, software and workflow work as planned.

01

10+ years of experience

The consulting content comes from many years of studio work with voice recordings, audio post production, mastering, podcast audio, film sound, audio branding and training. What I recommend comes from real projects, not from abstract textbook models.

02

Vendor neutral recommendations

Recommendations are made without affiliate ties, vendor contracts or artificial tool loyalty. What matters is which equipment, software and workflow fit your team, your budget and your goal.

03

Direct point of contact

You speak directly with the person who understands your project and delivers the consulting. This ensures short paths, clear responsibility and coordination without unnecessary detours.

04

Concrete next steps

Every consulting leads to clear recommendations. Afterwards you know which equipment is sensible, which software settings fit, which workflows should be improved and which next steps are realistic to implement.

FAQ

What clients frequently ask about audio consulting and training.

A selection of important questions on format, process, cost, technical training and workshops for educational institutions.

Professional audio consulting covers microphone technique, recording setup, software usage, workflow optimisation, basic audio post production, file preparation and technical training for teams.

I explain in a clear way which equipment makes sense, how it is used and how clean audio results are produced from it. With ongoing support, further sessions for implementation can follow.

Audio consulting is worthwhile for companies, agencies, institutions, public authorities, education providers and content teams that want to record, edit or organise audio more professionally themselves.

It is especially useful when existing equipment should be used better, new equipment is to be purchased or a clear recording workflow needs to be set up.

Typical workflow: project clarification to align goal and context, review of existing equipment or audio files, consulting day or workshop on site, at my studio in Leipzig or remote, followed by concrete recommendations for equipment, software, recording workflow and further implementation.

With ongoing support, further sessions follow at an agreed rhythm, for example to review setup, software settings or results.

Yes. Consulting and technical training can take place on site at the client, at my studio in Leipzig or remotely via video conference.

Remote formats are especially suitable for software onboarding, workflow review, setup consulting and follow-up sessions.

Consulting and training are priced based on scope, duration, preparation and goal of the session.

Clear price agreements are possible for single sessions, workshops or ongoing training formats. Details can be found on the prices page.

Yes. I support employees, podcast hosts and internal teams with the technical side of recording: microphone distance, levels, room, headphones, plosive protection, file organisation and basic editing.

It is not about speech therapy, voice coaching or speaker training. The focus is on clean technical recording and an understandable workflow.

In an audio analysis, existing audio content such as podcasts, image films, commercials, training modules or in-house recordings is reviewed. The focus is on technical quality, loudness, intelligibility, consistency, file formats and meaningful improvements for the actual use case.

The analysis concludes with clear recommendations on which points are critical, which improvements would make sense and what already works well in the current workflow.

Yes. Workshops and practice oriented training days for education providers, audio academies, media universities and vocational schools are possible.

Possible topics include real studio workflows, recording technique, mixing, mastering, sound design, audio post production and the practical use of audio software. The scope is agreed based on target audience, preparation needs and format.

Yes. Smaller teams in particular benefit when recording equipment, software and workflows are set up more clearly. Even a compact workshop can reduce errors, save working time and noticeably improve audio quality for podcasts, learning content or internal media.

The main advantage is that afterwards everyone involved knows how to use existing equipment sensibly and how to avoid typical recording mistakes.
